Dear Matt and Mar,
Your mother and I have been planning this holiday (starts tomorrow) since forever… haa haa haa haa haa, this holiday is quite important for me because it will be the first time for the both of you to travel by an aeroplane… but the day before the holiday (which is today) couldn’t have been a stranger day, you couldn’t imagine a worse start to a holiday.
This morning Matt woke up with a slanted shoulder, and he kept saying he had broken his shoulder (and his neck too) being fantastic parents that we are (lol) so obviously we paid no attention haa haa haa, your mother and I thought it was just a small matter of strain muscle or something, and so this morning I drove Matt to school as usual. This late afternoon, your mother called, saying Matt was still complaining about his shoulder and this slant is still not any better, so off to the hospital Matt went.
To cut a long story short, Matt ended up having to wear a neck brace (a small part of the neck bone is slightly out of alignment), and the Doc. said no swimming… haa haa haa, can you two imagine that, in a few hours we will be on some of the best beaches in the world, and the Doc. said no swimming… lol. Well a short swim can never hurt anybody… :-) (your mother is still cross that I plan to let the both of you swim and do other dangerous activities for the next five days).
To put an icing on the cake (so to speak) also this afternoon, the army announced that they were taking over the Government, in short, a military coup d'état, and they were putting in place a curfew. A ‘Curfew’ a day before our flight!… After scrambling to find out what time the curfew was, a friend managed to message me the answer, 00:00 to 05:00, which was a slight relief as we are planning to leave the house tomorrow at six-ish. A moment ago the military came out and said the curfew will not apply to anyone travelling to the airport :-)
So as you can see your mother and I are totally nervous about tomorrow, what else is there waiting for us? Haa haa haa haa haa.
LY very much :-)
(P.S. this post was written on the 22nd but wasn’t uploaded until after the trip)
